Choose from ASA or Sail Canada

Based in the scenic cruising grounds of the Gulf Islands, this 5 day, comprehensive course covers boat handling and safe seamanship practices as well as introducing the basics of coastal navigation. After departing our base at Deep Cove Marina you'll spend five days on board a 34 - 40 ft sailboat, cruising and learning through some of the most spectacular waters in the world. You'll spend each night either at anchor under the stars or secured at a cozy marina.

Post Covid has been difficult to run our GROUP program, getting students to to fill a session and on the same schedule, and we have therefore resorted to promoting the COMPACT 2 person program. We have not discarded group program.

Compact program 4.5 days.... Monday 9AM to Friday 12PM
2 persons
ASA 101/103/104/105 plus VHF
Run mostly Mid season

Group program Courses
Pre-board at 4 PM on Sunday and return at 2 PM on the Friday

PRIVATE programs may be on the yacht of your choice and for the timeline that suits you.

Level 1 - Introduction to Sailing
Winery Competent Crew - $2,595 p.p.

For those students looking for a holiday
of a slightly more relaxed nature a Competent Crew standard has been developed to provide a sufficient level of knowledge to
assist in the safe operation of a vessel. This 3 day Competent Crew course combines the Pacific Northwest's superb cruising grounds with its award winning coastal wine industry! Join certified sailing instructors and sommeliers for a course ripe with learning and adventure!

  • Competent Crew Certified to live aboard a sailing vessel in tidal waters as Competent Crew. In an emergency, be able to substitute as skipper. Competent to sail a vessel under 30 ft, where no navigational hazards exist, within 5 miles of safe harbor, during daylight hours only, in light to moderate wind conditions

This course includes 3 night live aboard accommodation, instruction & course material, linens, towels, sleeping bags, foul weather gear, 3 yummy breakfasts and 2 festive dinners
